In 2004, the company effectively continued to secure the quality of its products by a management system operated under the requirements of the ISO series 9000 norms. Once the QMS certificate issued under ČSN EN ISO 9001:1995 norms ceased to be valid in December 2003, we successfully recertified the quality assurance system in January 2004 under the ČSN EN ISO 9001:2001 norm.
Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance conducted a recertification audit and issued us a certificate on 22. 1. 2004 that will remain in effect till 21. 1. 2007. Quality assurance management involves processes and activities connected with the development and production of rolled aluminium semi-finished products and its alloys, development and production of refined aluminium packing foil and flexible packing material.
Employees successfully met all expectations and continue in the quality assurance of their products and services using the certified quality management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9000:2000 norms. A positive element in quality management development under the ISO norms throughout the company is that the TAPA Tábor Production Division, producing packing materials, has also undertaken to build QMS following the requirements of the ČSN EN ISO 9001:2001 norm and its successful introduction culminated in the Division being presented with a certificate. A certification audit was conducted in February 2004. The company ITI TÜV conducted the certification and the certificate is valid till 4. 3. 2007 applying to the production of flexible packány materials including printing, lamination, backing and cutting according to customer requirements.
The company was intensively engaged in 2004 in meeting the requirements of major customers in the production of packing materials concerning the safeguarding of correct production and hygiene practice. Considerable amounts of money were spent on improving the work environment and implementing HACCP plans and hygiene rules particularly relating to the food industry. The company was presented with the status of qualified supplier based on its high points’ ranking achieved under the customer audits of firms such as YOPLAIT Slušovice, TPK Hodonín, dairies Moravské Budějovice and Jaroměřice, DOUWE EGBERTS, a.s., Praha, SAINT-GOBAIN ORSIL Častolovice, DR. OETKER Romania and MB MÜHLENBACH GmbH.
The management system used in the production of rolled semi-finished products was subjected to audits concerning the company’s competence — specifically by the customer VALEO Laval and VALEO Žebrák. It achieved a high points’ assessment and the company’s production divisions were placed under Category “B” of qualified suppliers. In order to improve its position on the market and meet the requirements of customers in the car industry, the company’s management decided to obtain a QMS certificate under the ISO/TS 16949 standard. The transformation and implementation of QMS under this standard will take place in 2005 and 2006 so recertification will smoothly continue once the existing QMS certificate ceases to be in force in January 2007.
The presentation of the QMS certificate and the recognition of the company as a qualified supplier of important trading partners, confirms the high quality of its products, services and the company’s entire management system. Likewise, the management and employees undertake to continuously increase the efficiency of production while bearing in mind the increasing requirements for safety and environmental regulations.
