Břidličná, April 27, 2010
We are celebrating our 80th anniversary, and there is a lot to celebrate!
Symbolically, on the 80th working day of 2010, i.e. on April 26, 2010, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of non-ferrous metal processing in Břidličná. Small refreshments, a free lunch and a cake with the 80 logo, cut by the company General Manager Ing. Robert Macek, were prepared for employees.
Another surprise will be prepared for employees every month starting in May until August 28, 2010, on the AL INVEST Břidličná, a.s., Open Day.
We also prepared a sweet surprise for our customers in the form of chocolate sent by post.
The world of aluminium production and trade with this silvery shining metal is demanding but also beautiful. The history of non-ferrous metal processing in Břidličná started in 1930 when the Franke and Scholz company manufacturing tin and lead products was established. Aerospace aluminium and duralumin sheet production was launched in 1933. The most visible change happened in 1949 when the company was renamed Kovohutě Břidličná, n.p. (Břidličná Non-ferrous Metallurgy Plant, national enterprise). Today, rolled aluminium has been produced in Břidličná since 2006 under the name AL INVEST Břidličná, a.s.
For your information:
- If we spread all of the Profal product sold to our customers as roofing material, it would cover an area of 44 football stadiums!
- If we wanted to unroll Easter foil sold only this year to our customer NESTLE, we would get to Paris and there would still be enough left for us to stroll around.
- If we wanted to guess how many cars are using our material in their heat exchangers, we would count over 1.5 million cars globally, just in the last three years.
